LAHORE - PakTurk Intl Cag Educational Foundation (ICEF) has planned to sacrifice some 4,500 animals on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha in major cities of the country including Lahore, Islamabad, Karachi, Peshawar, Multan and Quetta. According to a press release issued by ICEF on Thursday, the expenditures incurred on procurement of animals, packaging and distribution of meat will to be met by the ZAKAT and donations would be made by Turkish philanthropists. The ICEF will distribute the meat among the poor, needy and low-income families in collaboration with social organisations, local philanthropists and governmental departments. The program will be managed by the administrators, teachers, parents and students of ICEF and the maximum sacrificial meat will be distributed in flood-affected areas of Pakistan in all its all four provinces. The foundation said about 540 tons meat will be distributed among the needy and the under-privileged class of Pakistan and about 18,000 families will get benefits from this program. Over 1.5 million packages would be distributed to the people. It said about 350 Turkish philanthropists will also visit Pakistan on Eid and also distribute Gifts among the people of flood-affected areas. They will also donate 300 model houses to the flood affected. Foundation governing body members including Chairman Unal Tosur, MD Fesih Celik, directors Kamil Ture, Murat Ervan, Harun Koken, Regional Director Trugut Puyan, principals Adem Akgedik, Huseyin, Saad Ullah Bayazit, Abdul Gani Gulmez, Taner Kocigit, Nida Yilmaz, Salih Unverdi, Ercan Acar would be among the organising committee members. The foundation will also send meat to Yateem khana, Darul Aman, Fountain House, Mayo, Jinnah and Gulab Devi hospitals and the slum and remote areas. ICEF Regional Director Turgut Puyan said the foundation started to sacrifice the animals and distribute the meat in 1995 with 500 animals, which continued and increased every year and it reached to 45,00 number of animals this year.
