LAHORE (PPI) - The City District Government Lahore (CDGL) will start selling sugar on subsidised rates of Rs 72 per kg after Eid-ul-Azha. In this regard, government would set up 125 selling points. The CDGL officials said that according to Chief Minister Punjab directive the provincial government would lift the sugar directly from Karachi seaport with the help of Trading Corporation of Pakistan and would provide it to customers through 125 private dealers. The Punjab government has not issued any policy regarding the selling of sugar, there were only two working days left and it was likely that sugar would available on subsidised rate after Eid holidays, sources added. A senior official of city government said that currently some 10,000 sugar bags of 50 kg was already available in government stock and this sugar will be sold on 13 special sale points at Sunday bazaars at the rate of Rs 62 per kg, sources concluded.
