OUR STAFF REPORTER LAHORE The ruthless dengue virus put to sword five more people including one woman on Friday, taking the death toll in the City to 355. Besides killing five more persons in a day, the deadly virus forced hundreds of Lahorites to approach public sector hospitals and private clinics, confirming 90 new cases and as such taking the overall tally till today to 32666. Kishwar Bibi (46), a resident of Sanda, and Muhammad Afzaal (30) of Kot Khawaja Saeeed breathed their last at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital. Ehsan-ul-Haq (58) and Muhammad Hussain (78), both residents of Model Town, lost their lives at Ittefaq Hospital. Muhammad Ijaz (45) of Habib Ullah Road died at Mayo Hospital. Out of 90 new cases, 19 were tested positive at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, 14 at Mayo Hospital, 10 at Services Hospital, 09 at Jinnah Hospital, 04 at Lahore General Hospital, 01 at Childrens Hospital while remaining cases were reported from private healthcare centres in the City. According to the Punjab Health Department, 03 dengue patients died during the last 24 hours, taking death toll in Punjab to 323 including 279 in Lahore. As many as 70 dengue patients have been reported in Punjab during the last 24 hours including 22 from Lahore. As such total number of dengue patients in Punjab has reached 20864 including 17256 from Lahore. At present 325 dengue patients are under treatment in different hospitals of Punjab including 254 in Lahore. So far 20541 dengue patients have been cured and discharged from different hospitals in Punjab including 17232 from Lahore. As many as 97 dengue patients have been cured and discharged from various hospitals of Lahore during the last 24 hours which include 32 from Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, 31 from Mayo Hospital, 16 from Jinnah Hospital, 10 from Kot Khawaja Saeed Hospital, 07 from Said Mitha Hospital, 05 from Services Hospital, 02 each from Lahore General Hospital andNawaz Sharif Hospital Yakki Gate and 01 from Mian Munshi Hospital.
