LAHORE - Oriel Grammar School won the 5th Inter Schools, College Games karate title with 70 points on the second day of the Games here on Sunday.

Oriel Grammar School show brilliant skills in karate event to secure first position with 70 points while City District Government placed second with 35 points and The Educators was third with 25 points.

In individual school boys’ event, Wajidul Hassan won gold medal in 30kg. Bilal Khan won gold in 35kg. Akbar Khan won in 40kg, Talha Anwar and Rehan Ali win in 45kg and plus 45kg respectively. Samiullah Khan won gold in individual Kata. Superior College won boys College event.

In individual category, Waqas won gold in 50kg category, Azam Nazeer in 55kg, Aqib Muneer in 60kg, M Hafeez in 67kg and Asad in 67 plus kg. Azam Nazeer won gold in individual Kata while Superior College won gold in team kata.

In girls’ schools and colleges netball, three teams Beaconhouse Liberty Campus, LGS 55 Main and Ibn-e-Sina qualified for the schools semi-finals while in colleges, Beaconhouse Liberty Campus, Lahore College Women University and LGS 55 enter the semi-finals.

LGS Model Town won the final of girls’ team table tennis against Lahore Grammar One-A-One by 3-1. In school boys’ events, ISCS School won the final by 3-2.

In girls’ college events, Kinnaird beat LGS Defence 3-0 to win title. In boys’ college events, Beaconhouse Boys beat Beaconhouse Defence to win the final.

Govt College Aitcheson beat LGS Phase I 2-1 in the lawn tennis event. DPS beat City School 2-0 to qualify for the final. In baseball girls’ school event, Adabistan-e-Sofia got first slot.

Punjab Olympic Association secretary told the media that in all, 365 boys’ schools and 204 colleges, 256 girls’ schools and 131 colleges are appearing in the Games.
