Jamaat protests blast near former MNA’s house

PESHAWAR - The activists of Jamaat-i-Islami staged a protest demonstration here on Sunday to condemn the bomb explosion near the residence of the party leader and former member of the National Assembly, Sabir Hussain Awan.
Led by District President of the party Bahurllah Khan, General Secretary Hamdullah Jan and President Town-IV Khalid Waqas Chamkani, the protestors started a protest march from the district office of the party in Nishtarbad and after passing through the main GT Road they reached Hastnagri Chowk, where they staged a protest demonstration.
The speakers urged the government to arrest the perpetrators of the attack on the house of Sabir Hussain Awan.
On the occasion, they strongly condemned the government and law enforcement agencies for what they called their complete failure to maintain law and order situation and protect the lives of the citizens.
They claimed that the US and Israeli agencies were involved in the terrorist incidents in Peshawar.
They said that the invisible forces, by attacking the JI leaders, wanted to stop the party leaders and workers from their peaceful struggle. But such mean steps would not deviate them from their mission, Bahrullah Khan said.
He said that the JI took active part in the Afghan war against Soviet Union and defeated the then super power.
“Even today we are supporting the people of Afghanistan in their struggle against the US-led occupation forces,” he added.
