SIALKOT - PML-N central leader Khawaja Muhammad Asif claimed that his party had purged all the Punjab government departments of political influence and directed the officials of Punjab departments to serve the people without any discrimination.

He was addressing a public gathering organised regarding an election campaign of PML-N candidate Muhammad Ikram ahead of November 17 by-election in PP 122 constituency (Sialkot-II. He claimed that the Punjab government had ensured good governance across the province.

Asif blamed that the PPP leaders were ruling all the federal departments including the Passport Office Sialkot, the Sui Northern Gas Piplines Limited and Gepco in Sialkot. He said that the large-scale political interference by PPP leaders had badly hampered the working of these departments. He added that the federal government had miserably failed to provide relief to the public.

He said that the general elections would decide the fate of Pakistan, saying that only the PML-N had come up to the nation’s expectations. He asked the central rulers to voluntarily quit politics by making an apology to the nation “for plundering the national exchequer”.

Asif admitted that democracy was strengthening in Pakistan. He urged the people to vote against the corrupt politicians and the plunderers of national exchequer in the elections.
