SAHIWAL - Federal Minister and PPP Punjab President Mian Manzoor Ahmad Wattoo has said that the PPP is guardian of national ideology and federation and it will protect the rights of poor masses. He said that the party leadership laid down their lives for the supremacy of democracy and Constitution. He claimed that the PPP was the only party possessed staunch and devoted worker which make distinguished from other parties.

Mian Manzoor Wattoo stated this while addressing a press conference here the other night. MNA Khurram Jahangir Wattoo, PPP Punjab General Tanveer Ashraf Kaira, District President Zaki Ch, MPA Ashraf Sohna, former MPA Rana Aftab Ahmad, Dr Azhar Kahloon, Tahir Abbas Sindhu and a large number of leaders and workers were also present on the occasion.

Manzoor Wattoo claimed that the Benazir Income Support Programme had been launched to eliminate poverty and empower the women. Under the programme thousands of poor women are being benefited without any discrimination,” he argued. The PPP Punjab chief pointed out that President Zardari introduced ‘national reconciliation’ policy, which had help brought together all political parties in the Parliament except the PML-N, adding that due to sagacity of the President allied parties were supporting the government. Wattoo claimed that President Zardari transferred all powers to the Parliament through amendments to the Constitution which had strengthened the institutions.

He recalled that in his stunt as the Punjab CM, he had granted ownership rights to inhabitants of 1200 katchi abadis, adding that documents of ownership rights to 18,000 people belong to rural areas were ready but the Punjab government did not distribute it as it bore Benazir Bhutto’s picture. He pointed out that tenure of the incumbent government would complete on March 18 next year which would be ensued by caretaker setup.

Wattoo claimed that the Punjab CM was only interested in projects worth billions of rupees but paying no attention to small projects in rural and remote areas. He alleged that the Punjab government had ruined the education system in province and established Daanish Schools in forests by spending billions of rupees from public exchequer. Wattoo said that lawlessness had plagued the province and dacoities and robberies had become rule of the day due to the inefficiency of the Punjab government. The Punjab rulers instead of paying attention to crucial issue has been spending Rs70 billion on one road in Lahore after dismantling the road which had been constructed few months back, adding that this huge amount could have been spent on many other projects which could have benefitted large number of people. The PPP Punjab chief disclosed that all organisations of the party had been dissolved, adding that there would be no Tehsil level organisation of the party in the future. He pointed out that the party would be reorganised at UC level a month after the completion of other organisations. He said that the Punjab government had failed to deliver any good for the betterment of the masses.

The Punjab government instead of solving teh issue of doctors charged them with batons and put them behind bars which exposed its inefficiency.
