AHMEDPUR EAST - PML-Q Central Vice President Chaudhry Tariq Bashir dispelled the impression that there were differences between PML-Q Punjab President Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi and his counterpart from the PPP, Manzoor Ahmed Wattoo.

Talking to the media during the wedding ceremony of the daughter of PPP leader Muhammad Saleem Qureshi, he praised the former Punjab chief minister and present deputy prime minister for giving Rs9 billion funds to complete development projects in Bahawalpur district. Now, PML-N leaders were inaugurating the same projects anew with their nameplates, he claimed.

Tariq Bashir stated that he would contest from NA-186 Hasilpur and NA 187 Yezman in the forthcoming elections. He severely criticised MNA Riaz Hussein Pirzada who defected the PML-Q. He said that ex-federal minister Syed Tasneem Nawaz Gardezi, the arch rival of Riaz Pirzada, was ill therefore he decided to contest the elections. To a query, he said that PML-Q had finalised the names of its four candidates for provincial assembly seats falling in two NA constituencies of Yezman and Hasilpur subdivisions.

He also flayed Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif and alleged that he had wasted billions of rupees on Sasti Roti project and Danish School System. He said that law and order in Punjab was exposing the claims of good governance in the province. He told the media that the PML-Q and PPP would field joint candidates on all the NA and PA seats of Bahawalpur division. “We will deliver good results in the general elections,” he expressed the hope. 

The ceremony was attended by former federal minister Muhammad Ali Durrani, Muhammad Umer Abbasi, PML-Q District President Syed Salahuddin Ahmed, ex-adviser to Chief Minister Punjab Malik Khalid Mehmood Warran and Sheikh Nasar Ali.

PROJECTS: The federal government on the recommendations of Deputy Prime Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi has approved the development schemes worth Rs40 million for PP-269.

These schemes were proposed by former PML-Q MPA Malik Khalid Mehmood.
