LAHORE – The Arab League University has awarded a PhD degree to Hassan Mohiuddin Qadri, the elder son of Dr Tahirul Qadri. He wrote the thesis on “Constitution of Madina and Modern Constitutional Principles (A Comparative and Analytical Study).” The thesis was written in Arabic language and covers around 800 pages.

Hassan completed his thesis under the supervision of renowned Egyptian constitutional expert and former deputy Prime Minister Dr Yahya-ul-Jamal who is currently Prof in Law Department of Al-Azhar University.

Hassan has explored in his thesis that four kinds of studies are found with reference to Islamic system of state and Constitution of Madina.

Some relate to political heritage of Islam in which salient features, characteristics and attributes of state system, judicial system, legislative system, and executive system have been described.

Some of them deal with principles of politics during the period of Holy Prophet (PBUH). The existing research has explored general principles of politics during the times of the Holy Prophet (PBUH). However, those principles have not been analysed critically in the background of Madina Pact.
