Former military dictator Pervez Musharraf Tuesday filed a petition in Sindh High Court for exclusion of his name from Exit Control List (ECL).

The petition filed by Musharraf’s lawyer in SHC stated that former President has been granted bails in all four cases against him therefore there was no reason to put his name in ECL.

The petition further stated that Musharraf’s mother staying in UAE is suffering serious sickness thus he should be allowed to travel abroad for visiting his ill mother.

The court issued notices to Federal government and interior ministry to seek their recommendations.

Musharraf was placed on exit control list by the director general immigration and passport on April 7 last after issuance of directive by Sindh High Court while granting him protective bail. A circular was issued to all the exit points including the airports not to let the former president leave the country.
