PLTA to hold 4 events

LAHORE - The Punjab Lawn Tennis Association (PLTA) will hold four back-to-back tournaments in two months to hunt new talent to promote tennis across the province. “The first tournament will commence today (Tuesday) here at the PLTA Bagh-e-Jinnah tennis courts in which players of 12, 14 and 18 years of age and U-18 girls will take part," said ex-Davis Cupper and tournament director Rasheed Malik here on Monday. He said PLTA president Rao Iftikhar Ahmad would be the chief guest at the opening and closing ceremonies. “The second tournament will be played from November 23-26 at the same venue with promising players of the province taking part in it. It will be followed by another tournament from December 12 while the fourth and the last will be held from December 25-30,” Malik added.–Staff Reporter
