LAHORE (PR): The Maternal and Newborn Health Programme, Research and Advocacy Fund (RAF) has funded a study on ‘Development of Baluchistan Specific CMWs Deployment Guidelines’, implemented by Contech International, a leading private sector health research and management organization in April 2013. This study is envisaged to formulate the practical guidelines for deployment of Community Midwives (CMWs) in the post-devolution context for Baluchistan province, focusing primarily on improving access and utilisation of CMWs services for poor and marginalised communities.

Pakistan is lagging behind in achieving Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) with regards to poor indicators on mothers and child health.
