RAWALPINDI - A trial court on Monday awarded capital punishment to two accused for murdering a constable besides imposing fine of Rs2 million each.

The Anti-Terrorism Court Special Judge Rana Masood convicted two persons in constable murder case and awarded death punishment to them by imposing fine of Rs2,00,000 each.

The two accused identified as Umair and Kamran alias Kami were produced in ATC. After hearing the arguments, the judge convicted them for killing a constable Zameer Kazmi of Police Station (PS) Sadiqabad.

The convicts were awarded life imprisonment under Sec 302 of Pakistan Penal Code, death sentence under 7 ATA and three months imprisonment under Sec 186 who were also awarded life imprisonment.

Police finally resolved the mystery of a blind murder by nabbing a lady killer.

The lady killer, who identified as Salma Bibi, a house maid, allegedly murdered a lady Saeeda Rahat, the wife of a retired army officer, in Officers Colony Morgah on October 5, 2013.

Police have arrested the alleged killer involved in murder of wife of a retired army officer in Officers Colony, disclosed SP Potohar Division Muhammad Haroon Joya at a press conference here on Monday.
