LAHORE- The whereabouts of Hussain Khar, son of former Punjab governor Ghulam Mustafa Khar, were traced today after Deputy Inspector General of Police (Operations) Dr Haider Ashraf revealed that he is in the custody of CIA Lahore.
The senior police official said that Mr Hussain was in the custody of CIA Lahore after he was picked up over suspicions of involvement in a robbery incident. Media outlets had earlier reported that Mr Hussain had been kidnapped from near his residence.
Former governor Punjab, Ghulam Mustafa Khar said that if there was any case against Hussain Khar then family members should have been informed about it and added that his son should face punishment if he was found guilty.
He further said that the police had not informed the family formally about the recovery of his son. Earlier, police stated that he had suspiciously disappeared while returning to his house from Askari V near Kalma Chowk. Chief Minister Punjab (CM) Shahbaz Sharif had taken notice of Khar’s disappearance and directed DIG Operations to submit report.
