CS for fair Cholistan Package

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Secretary Khizar Hayat Gondal has directed the authorities to ensure transparency in the process of allotment of land to the landless under Cholistan Package.
He was presiding over a meeting of Provincial Steering Committee for implementation of Chief Minister’s Package for Cholistan, here at Civil Secretariat on Wednesday. Addressing the meeting, the Chief Secretary ordered that the ongoing development projects in Cholistan be completed soon.
He said that provision of education, health and other facilities in Cholistan area is top priority. He maintained that a number of projects have been launched for provision of drinking water, construction of roads and development of livestock sector under the Chief Minister’s package for Cholistan.
The chief secretary directed that special measures be taken for development of livestock in Cholistan as it is backbone of this area. Commissioner Bahawalpur Division Saqib Zafar told the meeting that Cholistan Package is being implemented speedily.–Staff Reporter
He mentioned that de-silting of 1086 Tobas has been carried out. He added that 31 schemes of construction and improvement of roads in Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar and Rahim Yar Khan have been completed whereas veterinary medicines and vaccine worth 16.2 million have been distributed.
He said that work on Cadet College in Khanpur has also been started. Those among present were Senator Saood Majeed, MPA Mian Muhammad Islam Aslam, MPA Khalid Mehmood Jajja, Secretaries of Planning and Development, Works and Communication, Finance and Livestock and Dairy Development Department.
