ISLAMABAD - Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) Islamabad chapter has issued party tickets to candidates for local bodies elections to be held for the first time in the history of the federal capital on 30th of this month.

After a long and tedious process the PML-N ticket awarding committee under the head of MNA Tariq Fazal Chaudhry finalised candidates for some 50 union councils comprising both the rural and urban areas of the federal capital.

Tariq announced party candidates for the local bodies elections saying that they have faced difficulties in finalising party candidate for each union council as three to four potential party workers were vying for the party ticket while in certain cases the number of applicants for party tickets were over half a dozen making their job even more tough.

Interestingly, former MNA and former Senator Syed Zafar Ali Shah will also be contesting for these elections and he was given the party ticket. A party leader from the Federal Capital said that actually Syed Zafar Ali Shah is eyeing at the coveted slot of lord mayor of Federal Capital and that is the reason he landed in the arena.

Tariq Fazal Chaudhry while announcing the party tickets to candidates said that people would see a sweeping victory of PML-N in these elections from the Federal Capital like they had seen it in the first phase of LBs polls in Punjab.

He said that people of Pakistan knew it well that only PML-N could solve the gigantic problems facing the country and transform it into a developed state.
