Mr Imran Khan’s remark - “I am with the army” - was not in good taste. Army doesn’t need this as it is popular in the country. Imran’s educational and social background has good foreign component; and he is expected to be more mature and decent while making public speeches and refrain from using words and phrases which are unbecoming of a national leader. He may, however, say anything he likes in his closed door party meetings.

Army has done an excellent job in fighting terrorism and restoring security to our country by successfully launching two large scale operations - Harb e-Azb and Rudal Fasad - for which it made unforgettable sacrifices. It is loyal to the 1973 Constitution and admits civilian supremacy.
