LAHORE -  Chief Traffic Officer Rai Ijaz Ahmad has changed the posting policy of traffic wardens in 13 sectors, said a press release.  These 13 sectors have been declared high health risk sectors for traffic staff. Duration of posting will be reduced from three months to one month to avoid smog and environmental pollution, the press release added.  Ijaz was cited as saying: “We have taken the decision to give a health cover to our wardens.”  Posting duration reduced in the traffic sectors of Railway Station, Kotwali, Misri Shah, Lorry Adda, Lower Mall, Shahdarah, Mughalpura, Mecload road, Nawa kot, Sherakot, Tokar Niaz Baig, Kotlakhpat and Khayaban. Traffic wardens would be able to take this opportunity to apply for further posting in these 13 traffic sectors.

Also, the CTO approved the names of 50 wardens for a four-month upper course according to the seniority list. According to a press release, the CTO forwarded the names to the DIG.  “We have already issued the seniority list of more than 3,600 traffic wardens for their promoted,” the city traffic chief was quoted.
