Zeeshan wins CAS National Jr Squash C’ship

PESHAWAR - Zeeshan Zaib defeated Ozair Rasheed 15/13, 11/5 and 11/4 to clinch the title of the Chief of the Air Staff National Junior Squash Championship 2017 held at Hashim Khan Squash Complex, here on Saturday.

Air Chief Marshal Sohail Aman, Chief of the Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force was the chief guest on the occasion. Former World Champions Qamar Zaman and Jansher Khan also witnessed the match.

Ozair Shaukat overcame strong resistance from Farhan Hashmi 11/7, 11/13, 9/11, 11/9 and 11/2 to win Under-17 title.

In another closely contested match, Noor Zaman prevailed over Khushal Riaz 11/9, 6/11, 12/10 and 11/8 to clinch Under 15 tiltle.

In Under 13 final, M Hamza defeated Ammad Ahmed 11/5, 15/13, 8/11 and 11/6 while Under 11 title went to Humaam Ahmed who overpowered Anas Bukhari 11/8, 11/7and 11/9.

The Air Chief said that PAF and PSF have focused on the promotion of Squash at junior level. He further added that these young players are the future of Pakistan Squash and will be provided every possible facility to bring the past glory in the game. 

He also said that PSF is also working on bringing back international Squash to the country and the Squash lovers would watch international players playing in the Pakistani courts.

The Championship was played from 06 to 11 November, 2017. A total of 200players from all over the country, including all national seeded junior players, participated in the championship in the categories of under 11, 13, 15, 17, and 19 years.
