A nationwide anti-polio campaign of varied duration begins in selected parts of the country on Monday.

In Punjab, more than seven million children will be administrated polio vaccine in twelve highly sensitive districts during the campaign.

The districts include Lahore, Sheikhupura, Bahawalpur, Dera Ghazi Khan, Multan, Muzafargarh, Rajanpur, Rahim Yar Khan, Layyah, Faisalabad, Rawalpindi and Attock.

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, a total of 8,96,205 children below the age of five years will be administered polio vaccine in seven tribal districts.

In Sindh, polio campaign begins in all districts of Karachi and eighteen districts of interior Sindh where over seven million children under five years of age will be administered polio vaccine.

Similarly in Balochistan, three day anti-polio campaign is being launched in fifteen districts where more than 1.3 million children will be given polio drops.
