LAHORE The newly-promoted Nushkis Baloch FC are still looking for their first win in Pakistan Premier Football league (PPFL) as they lost to 1993 NFCC Champion NBP 0-1 at Nushki Stadium, Nushki while Afghan FC lost golden opportunity of beating KPT but they wasted second session penalty-kick as tense, highly-absorbing tie ended 0-0 at Govt High School, Chaman. Both the matches were watched by large audience on Balochistan soil but their large support to home team failed to give happiness as NBP returned from the field with three points while Afghan earned only one point from the game. Spearhead Muhammad Asif was NBPs hero as his lone 62nd minute goal brought jubilant to NBPs coaching staff of Nasir Ismail, Zahid Taj. The bankers might have returned with better scoreline but Farooq Shah and Muhammad Ashraf missed real sitters in the 17th and 39th minute. Nushki were too defensive and applied man-to-man marking. Ther striker Saif Ullah and skiper Habib Ullah did come close but their final touches in the 29th and 36th minute were not upto level. It was 0-0 at interval and Asif fired the all-important clicher in the 62nd minute after fine work by Farooq Shah and Mehmood Khan on the left flank. It was Asifs 4th and Abdul Aziz-led NBPs 11th goal of the event. It was Nushkis 11th defeat in the event and they earned only one point in 12 matches. Afghan FC missed the chance of recording their third win when they missed three real opportunities through their main schemer Abdul Hadi who failed to score in the 43rd and 56th minute while Haji Ahmed Shah saw his perfect lob went over the bar in the 23rd minute after KPT keeper Sajid was in hopeless spot. It was 0-0 at interval and Afghans midfielder Muhammad Ali alias Shirin Agha failed to put the tie beyond KPTs reach when he failed to utilize 66th minute penalty-kick given for handball infringement. KPT secured 11 points in as many matches while Afghan recorded nine points from same number of matches. Monday (12 Oct) Fixture : PIA v KESC (Shadab Football Stadium, F.B Area, Karachi 4 PM)
