KARACHI - City Nazim Syed Mustafa Kamal has asked all the national and local organisations including private companies and corporations to join hands with the City government in the development of Karachi. We need practical cooperation from these organisations because Karachi is the heart of national economy. All civil organisations should therefore own their City and play their role in its progress. He expressed these views while addressing a programme to install the dustbins at II Chundrigar Road under I Own Karachi project. Town Nazim Saddar Muhammad Dilawar Khan, TMO Mukhtar Ahmed, EDO Municipal Services Masood Alam, Project Director of I Own Karachi Tooba Zarif, representatives of Pakistan State Oil and a number of City volunteers were also present on the occasion. Kamal said that the programme was launched one year ago so that the citizens of Karachi should own their City and it was good to see the people from all walks of life to participate in this campaign whole heartedly. He said that through these dustbins at II Chundrigar Road had cost only Rs0.3 million to PSO but even this little cooperation holds much value and modest practical cooperation from private sectors like this could solve the problems of Karachi. He expressed hope that the message of I Own Karachi will deliver throughout the country and would bring positive and refreshing results in the days to come. ATTACK ON GHQ IS LIKE ASSAULT ON WHOLE NATION Meanwhile, Mustafa Kamal has said that the attack on GHQ was not just an assault on an organisation but it was an attack on the whole Pakistani nation. Our brave soldiers have countered this attack with great courage and braveness for which we paid tribute to our army on behalf of the citizens of Karachi. He said this while talking to media representatives at the ceremony held at the installation of dustbins at IIChundrigar Road. We salute our brave soldiers who have dealt with the terrorist attack with brilliance and it has raised the morale of the nation. The Pakistani nation has always stand with its army in difficult times, he added.
