Misbah-ul-Haq has been appointed Pakistans captain for the two-Test series against South Africa. He becomes the fourth man, after Mohammad Yousuf, Shahid Afridi and Salman Butt, to lead Pakistan in Tests in 2010 alone. However, I fail to understand that the player who was not in the playing eleven (not even in the squad of 15 players) for the last 9 months, how can he become the captain of the test team? If Misbahs experience has been counted for this post than I think Younus Khan would have been a far better choice. Inclusion of Taufiq Umar is also surprising, PCB management and selectors some time ago said they were focusing on young blood to create a new team but I think that PCB management is totally confused. It would have been better had the PCB selected Younus Khan. MUBASHIR MAHMOOD, Karachi, October 8.
