Karachi - Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leaders Najmi Alam, Nadeem Bhutto, Habibuddin Junaidi and Lateef Mughal have asked Federal Minister for Interior Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan to rein in NADRA officers and staffers whom they blamed for discriminating against the people of Sindh.

“The NADRA officers and staffers are still running a covert consortium with the agent mafia,” they added.

In a statement issued by PPP Media Cell Sindh here on Tuesday, they said that people in Sindh faced problems while obtaining new CNICs, renewing the expired ones and obtaining B Form.

“Even they are not handed receipts of their applications and thus are denied tokens,” they said.

They further said that agents operated freely around NADRA outlets and minted money by selling a token against the payment of Rs1000 to Rs1500.

They called upon the interior minister to visit Sindh after Muharram and chalk out a strategy to eliminate the mafia in consultation with the Sindh government.
