MIRPURKHAS - The top brass of Mirpurkhas division’s administration visited the imambargahs, processions’ routes and Civil Hospital Mirpurkhas on Tuesday to examine the security arrangements and the precautionary steps taken to maintain law and order during 9th and 10th of Muharram.
Those who visited included Divisional Commissioner (DC) Shafiq Ahmed Mahesar, Deputy Commissioner Syed Mehdi Ali Shah, Municipal Committee Mirpurkhas Chairman Farooq Jameel Durrani, Vice Chairman Fareed Ahmed, Civil Surgeon Dr Asghar Arain, Rangers DSR Ashraf and District Health Officer Dr Shafiq Ahmed Memon.
According to reports, that they visited 15 Madadgar Base Centers where ambulances were on a standby. Talking to media on the occasion, the commissioner said that purpose behind the visit was to monitor the security arrangements and also the treatment facilities at hospitals. He directed the police and Rangers to frisk all those entering the imambargahs and reserve the area for parking of vehicles at a distance.
The commissioner was told that seven ambulances and the paramedical staff would accompany the processions in the city.
Meanwhile, a delegation of MQM Mirpurkhas Zone, led by Zonal In-charge Mujibul Haq, MPA Dr Zafar Ahmed Kamali, Afaq Ahmed Khan, Shahbaz Khan, Saeed Mansoori, Muhammad Usman and others went round imambargahs and seminaries of the city and also met with ulemas of both Sunni and Shiite sects, including Maulana Hafeezur Rahman Faiz, Hafiz Mahmood, Tehseen Haider Kazmi, Sagheer Naqvi, Qambar Raza, to urge them to play role in maintaining religious harmony in the city, particularly on the day of Ashura.
