WAH CANTT  -  Opposition leader in Punjab Assembly Hamza Shahbaz Sharif on Thursday severely criticised Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf-led government for failing to fulfil promises it had made with the masses and taking U-turns on important national issues.

Hamza was addressing a public meeting at Wah while campaigning for Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz candidate for by-polls of National Assembly constituency NA-63, Barrister Aqeel Malik.

The meeting united all groups in the party on stage. The party had been split in several groups during the July election.

The son of PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif, Hamza said that governments could not be run by auctioning buffalos and collecting donations. He said that 50 days after coming to power, the government had contacted IMF for seeking loans while Imran Khan while standing on container had announced that he would commit suicide rather than going to the IMF.

Hamza claimed that PTI was given fake mandate in July 25 general election. He criticised ‘poor’ economic policies of the government resulting in unprecedented hike of Rs9 in the rate of US dollar in a day. He said that due to hike in dollar rate, foreign debt had surged to Rs900 billion.

Hamza said that people who looted public money had become ministers in the PTI government. “A man who has become Speaker Punjab Assembly is Bank of Punjab defaulter of Rs22 billion,” he said.
