Pakistan started well in Asia Cup in their first match against Hong Kong. Pakistan played really well in this match in all departments batting; fielding and bowling Pakistan comfortably won the match by 8 wickets. The second match was played between Pakistan and India. Unfortunately, Pakistan failed to score a huge total. The team scored only 162 in 43 overs. Only Shoaib Malik and Babar Azam scored well and they stabled their team when both the openers failed to start well against India.

However, our batting was not up to the mark against the Indian bowlers. India easily achieved the target in 29 overs and won the match by 8 wickets. On 21st September, Pakistan faced Afghanistan in super four round. Afghanistan played very well and scored 257 in 50 overs. Pakistan once again failed to open well as Fakhar performed poorly; he was out on Golden Duck in the very first over.

However, Imam and Babar moved the innings really well and their partnership helped Pakistan to score quickly. Unfortunately, back to back blows, first Imam run out on 80 runs, he really played well and after two overs Babar stumped on 66 runs. In fact, both of them stabled Pakistan innings. Shoaib Malik again played really well and saved his team. He scored fifty and led his team to the victory on the last ball of the Pakistan innings. However, credit also goes to Afghanistan, they played well and put Pakistan under pressure in the middle overs.

In super four rounds, Pakistan again faced India but this time, Pakistan played well and scored 237. Sarfraz and Malik partnership helped Pakistan to score 200 plus this time. But Pakistani fielders did not field well. They dropped three catches of Indian Captain Rohit Sharma. Rohit played well and scored century to steer his team to the victory against Pakistan. India qualified for the Final of Asia Cup, 2018.

On 26th September, Pakistan played with Bangladesh and this was the match was to win at any cost for qualifying to Final of Asia Cup, 2018. Bangladesh played first and they scored 239 in 50 overs. Mushfiqur Rahim missed his century just short of one run. When Pakistan came to bat, Fakhar again scored only 1 run and he was out. Imam once again, played very well by scoring 83 runs. However, other batsmen did not click. In fact, they played carelessly, resultantly; Pakistan lost the match by 37 runs. Hence, the journey of Pakistan for Asia Cup came to end. Bangladesh easily won the match and qualified for the Final of Asia Cup. Advice to Pakistan Cricket team is that to improve its performance and not to repeat faults. The team should come with new spirit and new hope.
