Top seeds reach second round of CAS Int’l Squash Chips

LAHORE - Pakistan’s Tayyab Aslam, Farhan Zaman, Farhan Mehboob along with Egyptian Karim El Hammamy and French Auguste Dussourd reached the second round of the Chief of Air Staff (CAS) International Squash Championship 2021 at the Mushaf Squash Complex, Islamabad. In the first round of men’s event, Tayyab Aslam got bye, Amaad Fareed beat Vladislav Titov (RUS) 11-1, 11-5, 11-7, Martin Svec (CZE) beat Danish Atlas 8-11, 11-7, 11-7, 11-7, Tsz Kwan Lau (HKG) got bye, Asim Khan got bye, Farhan Zaman beat Robert Downer (ENG) 11-1, 10-12, 12-10, 11-9, Khaled Labib (EGY) beat Zahir Shah 11-8, 11-8, 11-2, Auguste Dussourd (FRA) got bye, Moustafa El Sirty (EGY) got bye, Farhan Mehboob beat Hamza Sharif 11-8, 11-8, 11-8, Chi Him Wong (HKG) beat Omar ElKattan (EGY) 11-7, 11-6, 11-6, Max Lee (HKG) got bye, Henry Leung (HKG) got bye, Hugo Varela (ESP) beat Waqas Mehboob 8-11,11-9, 11-5,11-5, Israr Ahmad beat Noor Zaman 11-5, 7-11, 11-6, 11-5 and Karim El Hammamy (EGY) got bye. In women’s event, top seeds Nadia Pfister (Switzerland), Marie Stephan (France), Salma Eltayeb (Egypt) along with Pakistani players Rushna, Mehboob, Riffat Khan, Nimra Aqeel, Sana Bahader, Sadia Gul, Komal Khan and others also reached the second round.
