Pakistan is now going into the process of complete transition to democracy but the politicians who claim to be champions of democracy are engaged in making this transition difficult. PML-N leader, Nawaz Sharif, recently decided to quit the ruling coalition. Mr. Sharif has shown political immaturity by walking out of coalition at a very crucial time and seems rather stuck in provincial politics. On the other hand Asif Zardari- the Nelson Mandela of Pakistan- has handled the issues with political vision and wisdom. PPP has the government at centre. It has roots in all four provinces and talks about the whole Pakistan. Its leader Asif Ali Zardari is the man capable of taking Pakistan to peace, prosperity and progress. -MALIK ZAHID, Karachi, via e-mail, September 30.
