KARACHI - Karachi Dolphins slumped to its second defeat in the MCB Junior Hockey Super league when they lost to Multan falcons 4-3 in a narrow contested match here on Thursday at the CP. In other matches played on the day, Sialkot Eagles defeated Islamabad Tigers 5-0 in a one-sided contest in which Muhammad Umair recorded second hat trick of the ten-team championship. Abbottabad Rockets slammed Quetta Leopards 5-0 in the third match and in the last contest Faisalabad Bulls beat Peshawar Hawks 6-2. Karachi Dolphins suffered second shocking defeat at the hands of Multan, which may affect its ranking on the points table which will decide the quarterfinal paring. Multan Falcons proved better scorers and defenders both. They sent four goals past the opponent's keeper and successfully defended them when Karachi made a late rally. Safer Hussain (2) and Hafiz Zohaib and Mushtaq netted for the winners. Karachi scorers were Sohail Ashraf, M Salman and Muhammad Ali who scored at almost the final gong. Sialkot Bulls outplayed Islamabad Tigers 5-0 with Muhammad Umair registering a hat trick. He scored in third, 27th and 29th minute. M Dilbar and Dawood Khalid added other two goals. Abbottabad Rockets scored five times without reply from Quetta Leopards in third match. Taimur, Asad Abbas, Usman Rafiq and Zuhair Rizvi scored one goal in that order. Muhammad Tesuqi led the scoring spree for Faisalabad Bulls with four goals to clinch 6-2 win against Peshawar Hawks. Nughman and Rizwan added other two goals. M Imran and Anis Akhtar scored for the losers. Two matches will be played on Friday.
