ISLAMABAD -President Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) Syed Dilawar Abbas said here Friday that the PTF would hire the foreign coach for the junior players after Ramazan. Talking to reporters here at the PTF Tennis Complex, he said that the federation had contacted the qualified coaches of China, India, Russia and Thailand. "We will select a top professional coach for the teenagers very soon . The federation is focusing on the young players to pick up talented lads for future," he viewed. He further said that Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi was an asset for Pakistan tennis. "We need his services for forthcoming international events. He has yet to reply the notice of the Pakistan Tennis Federation, which was served on him for skipping the Davis Cup tie at the eleventh hour against Philippians," he replied. He further said that the federation had restored the affiliation of Balochistan with the PTF and they paid their dues. "Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) did not show any interest in joining the PTF and PIA was also not contributing much to the promotion of tennis and its issue of disaffiliation has been closed," he said. Responding to a question regarding the international events, he said that the International Tennis Federation (ITF) had allotted two ITF Junior Tennis Tournaments to Pakistan, which would commence here from October 26 at the PTF Complex. "The ITF also demanded the provision of tight security to the overseas during the tournaments including accommodation," he said. To another question, he said that the PTF would hire the hostels of the Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) during the ITF Junior Tennis fixtures. "We have discussed with the high-ups of the PSF for boarding facilities. These events will be a test for us but after organising these junior events, the ITF will grant us other international events," he concluded.
