PML (N) President Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has feared as reported in a section of national press that President Asif Ali Zardari will pardon perpetrators of violence using his absolute powers even to murderers found guilty by the Superior Courts and awarded death penalty. It appears our President has God like powers conferred by the Constitution. This reminds one of the powers enjoyed by Namrood and Pharaoh of Egypt who held powers of life and death over their subjects. I am reminded of a case in Saudi Arabia where a personal physician of King of Saudi Arabia was held responsible for a wrong injection administered by a nurse under his control resulting in loss of an infected arm of a person. The Sharia Court ordered that as per arm for a arm the physician had to be punished. Even the Saudi king could not help his physician and he had to leave the country to escape the punishment.
