RAWALPINDI: A wreath laying ceremony to commemorate the day of death of Major Raja Aziz Bhatti (Nishan-e-Haider) was held on Monday at his grave in his hometown Ladian.

Garrison Commander Kharian Maj Gen Nadir Khan laid a wreath on behalf of Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif, an Inter-Services Public Relations statement issued here said.

A smartly turned out contingent of Punjab Regiment presented salute in traditional manner and laid the wreath.

Major Raja Aziz Bhati was given the country’s highest gallantry award, Nishan-e-Haider, for his services in the war of 1965.
