Govt committed to public welfare: Minister

SIALKOT- Besides making all-out efforts to raise living standard of the public, the government is striving hard to provide basic facilities to the masses at their doorsteps, Federal Minister for Law and Climate Change Zahid Hamid said.
Addressing a gathering here on Sunday, the minister said that the government is fully aware of the miseries being faced by the masses, saying that the incumbent government had inherited all these problems but is committed to get the public rid of these menaces. He said that the PML-N government is committed to making Pakistan a country envisaged by Quaid-e-Azam, adding that the N-league is the only party which is striving to protect the Pakistan ideology.
He pointed out that the country’s economy has put on the right track, attributing it to the stability of democracy in the country. “The day is not far when Pakistan would become an Asian tiger under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif,” he claimed. He said that the government is making adequate efforts to pull the country out of energy crisis, claiming that Pakistan would be made a loadshedding free country till 2018.
HORTICULTURE AUTHORITY SET UP: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has approved the establishment of a parks and horticulture authority to beautify historical Sialkot city through the up-gradation of existing parks.
District Coordination Officer Dr Asif Tufail said that the Parks and Horticulture Authority would be established soon under the direct supervision of the Punjab government.
Meanwhile, the Sialkot DCO has taken serious notice of the ruining of the green belts on Sialkot city’s all roads by the stray cattle.
He has ordered a strict probe against the negligent officials of Sialkot Tehsil Municipal Administration (TMA) in this regard.
He has appointed ADCG Dr Umer Sher Chattha as an inquiry officer to fix responsibility in this regard.
The DCO revealed that the Sialkot TMA remained unable to make a proper mechanism to secure and protect green belts, due to which, almost all of these plants have been ruined and eaten up by the stray cattle.
Dr Tufail has also ordered the TMA to make all out efforts to save green belts for the beautification of Sialkot city.
