ISPR has released a statement saying, “Motorway police and Officers case is being investigated,” reported Waqt News.

The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa police registered an FIR against Pakistan Army officials who allegedly became hostile and beat four officials of the National Highway and Motorway Police (NHMP) on the Grand Trunk Road, over being issued a ticket for reckless driving. About the incident, the ISPR issued the following tweet. 

According to the report, two officers were driving fast on the motorway when they were stopped and questioned by the Motorway Wardens. Upon which they got into an argument and scuffle.

As the argument became heated, the army officers called in other officers in an attempt to intimidate the motorway police . Earlier reports stated that the officers then took the motor way police officials to Attock fort where they were detained unlawfully.

The three officers were later taken to district headquarters hospital in Nowshera to treat their injuries.
