Out of order streetlights need attention

Islamabad - The streetlights installed in the federal capital have become dysfunctional, plunging several sectors into darkness and creating inconvenience for the residents.

The residents of sectors including I-10, G-6, G-7 and G-8 complained that the out of order streetlights pose problem for them as they not only have to go out for prayers in mosques in complete darkness but the incidents of street crimes have also increased in their areas.

Resident of I-10 Fahad Khan while talking to APP said that they have complained to the Capital Development Authority administration several times but to no avail. Saad Ahmed another residents of the area complained that the streetlights have become out of order and causing increase in robbery and road accidents.

He said in evening the whole area sink into darkness and caused inconvenience for transporters and residents.

Zeshan resident of the sector G-7 said residents have demanded CDA to repair the out of order street lights on priority basis. 

When contacted to CDA official he said, the staff would look after all the matters related to repair maintenance. He also added that the residents of the respective areas should note down the complaints to CDA. He said that the proper maintenance of the out of order streetlights would be done on regular basis.
