ATTOCK - The Pakistan Justice and Democratic Party will move the Lahore High Court to seek the court directives to the National Assembly speaker to send a reference against the Prime Minister to the Election Commission.

“Earlier, the NA speaker violated Article 52 of the Constitution by rejecting the reference filed for the disqualification of the PM,” said PJDP Focal Person Ahsanuddin while addressing a press conference here the other day.

He urged the nation to get united to fight against the menace of corruption and terrorism. He pointed out that illiteracy is the main reason behind these evils. “Being ignorant of the challenges the country is facing, people get no idea about the election of an honest leadership,” he claimed. He regretted that National Action Plan could not be implemented according to its spirit, adding that corruption of billions of rupees is being committed in government departments but there is no check and control to curb this malpractice. Quoting Army Chief Gen Raheel Shareef, he said that corruption and terrorism are inter-linked and to maintain lasting peace across the country, both the evils must be rooted out.

Mr Ehsan also demanded registration of high treason against Altaf Hussain on charges of delivering anti-Pakistan speeches and seeking help from enemies against Pakistan. He also demanded compensation for the families of the lawyers who were martyred in Quetta blast.
