Rao Zahid, Abid Boxer elected PBA chairman, president

LAHORE - The Punjab Boxing Association (PBA) general body retained Abid Hussain, commonly known as Abid Boxer, as its president. However, they elected Rao Zahid Qayyum as its new chairman. The new office-bearers of PBA were elected yesterday for the next term of four years. The meeting was chaired by Abid Hussain Boxer at Sports Board Punjab conference hall, where all the office-bearers were elected. Rao Zahid Qayyum was named its chairman while Abid Hussain was elected as President, Sharjeel Zia Butt Secretary \and M Tariq Gujjar as Treasurer. All the divisions of the PBA participated in which Rao Zahid was the co-chair. Other officials include SVP Ch M Sultan Mahmood, advisor Brig (R) Javed Iqbal and VPs Anwar Ahmad (Guj), Abdul Jabbar (Rwp), Gulzar Ahmad (Fsd), Prof Safdar Ali Asif (Lhr) and associate secretary Nadeem Bajwa. Among the women officials, Samreen Altaf (Guj) is associate VP. The executive body includes Khaula Athar, Haji M Khaliq Mughal, Abdul Wahab, Ijlal Haidar, M Imran, Qamber Ali, Arshad Qureshi and Zaigham Maeel.
