PESHAWAR - A person was killed, three watchmen were injured and around 10 containers and 13 vehicles destroyed when some unknown Taliban militants attacked NATO supplies terminals in the outskirts of Peshawar in the wee hours of Sunday. According to police sources, around 300 militants attacked the Pak-Afghan, Aman and Pak-Kabul terminals of the NATO supplies with patrol bombs and later hit them with rockets. The rocket attacks set a large part of the terminals on fire and destroyed around 10 containers of the supplies, the sources added. In the meantime, the militants also fired at the watchmen and as a result of the incident one person, identified as Arif, was killed while three others identified as Khadim, Arif and Usman, were injured. All the injured persons were watchmen. The staff of the terminals informed TheNation that besides supplies, 13 vehicles were also badly damaged in the incident. They also said that communication equipment, dresses, foodstuff and other items of military use were among the destroyed things. Immediately after the attack, a watchman informed the police and fire brigade. But they arrived too late and in the meanwhile fire had gutted a lot of the supplies material. So far no one has claimed the responsibility for the attack, but it is reported that Taliban militants carried out the attack.
