Speaking as the chief guest in the annual prize distribution ceremony of The Educators, Renaissance Campus, held here at the Women Sports Complex, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, on Saturday night, Prof Anwar, himself an eminent scholar and orator, emphasised on the importance of educating and training the leaders of tomorrow. The other guests of honour in the colourful ceremony were the trio of Pakistans most promising young cricketers, Khurram Manzoor, safraz Ahmed and Anwar Ali. Prof Anwar delivered an inspirational speech in which he recalled the accomplishments of the great personalities. These young school-going kids are our future. The greater attention we pay to their education and training we would be securing our future. By investing on them we are actually making a down payment to our own future, he pointed out. Expressing his delight with the performance of the students at the stage, he said it was a matter of great satisfaction for him to note that the boys and girls of the school were so enthusiastic about extra-curricular activities as well. They have stunned me with their display in the tableaus. The teachers and the management must have worked hard to train them but the talents of the students has really caught my imagination, he conceded. Prof Anwar recognized that the school management had done a fabulous job by developing tableaus on issues highlighting national harmony. I am particularly delighted with the one in which the culture of rural Sindh was presented. The students in urban areas are not always well versed with the traditions and customs of the rural areas of their own province, Prof Anwar noted. As a token of appreciation, he announced to gift a set of books on the sayings of Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah to the school while the participants of the school function would be presented certificates by the BIEK. Earlier, in his welcome address, the school administrator, Amir Qureshi, spoke about the policies of his institution regarding the promotion of extra-curricular activities. While taking care of the academics side, we leave no stone unturned in grooming our students in sports and other co-curricular activities because we firmly believe that our students should have all-round expertise and they go on to become successful in their career, he said.
