PESHAWAR Thirty-eight militants were killed and two personnel of the security forces were martyred during armed clashes that erupted between the militants and security forces in Orakzai Agency while another four militants were arrested in Rahimabad and Mingora, Swat on Monday. Sources said that the militants attacked a security checkpoint in Shareen Darra early on Monday in which two security personnel were martyred and nine others injured. In response, security forces killed 38 militants and wounded several others. Three hideouts of militants were also destroyed in Shareen Darra and Sangrana areas. The offensive against militants in Orakzai Agency has entered into third week. Operation Commander, Tahir Ikram said many hideouts have been destroyed and more than 300 militants including key commanders have been killed in the operation. Meanwhile, Mingora police arrested four suspected militants during a crackdown in Rahimabad and Mingora. Police under the supervision of Station House Officer Rahimabad raided a suspected house in Rahimabad and arrested two suspected militants identified as Rafiullah and Samiullah son of Zakirullah. In a separate raid, Sar Zamin Khan son of Feroz Khan and Khan Nabi son of Sar Zamin Khan were arrested from Mingora. The arrested persons were later shifted for detailed interrogation.
