KARACHI - Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain on Monday strongly condemned the brutal action of police against the peaceful protestors in Abbottabad, who stage protest against the renaming of NWFP province as Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa. In a statement issued from MQM office, he expressed his deep sorrow over the loss of precious lives in the protest demonstration in Abbottabad. He further said that the people of Hazara division including Mansehra, Abbottabad, and Lakki Marwat staged protest in favour of their demands saying that protest was the Constitutional and democratic right of the people of Hazara division. He regretted the provincial government and police over their action against the demonstrators saying that this was not the right way to suppress the voice of demonstrators by using the force. Altaf demanded of the federal and provincial government to immediately resolve the issue through negotiation. He expressed his solidarity with the people of Hazara division.
