LAHORE - The Lahore High Court chief justice on Monday disposed of suo moto proceedings against suspension of police officials who allegedly misbehaved with PML-N MNA Malik Riaz while searching his vehicle. On Monday, SSP Operations Ch Shafique Ahmed appearing before the court submitted that during inquiry the investigation officer of the case found police officials did not misbehave with MNA Malik Riaz and they were just doing a routine checking. He also made it clear the police officials concerned had been reinstated immediately when the fact was known and now they were performing their duties at a place close to police headquarters Lahore. On this, the chief Justice held no further order is called for in this case and the same is disposed of. Earlier, the chief justice had directed the police to record statement of the parliamentarian and conclude inquiry into the matter. The SSP Investigation conducted inquiry and report was submitted in the court on Monday. The chief justice had taken suo moto notice against the suspension of SHO Lower Mall police station and other police officials for searching the vehicle of MNA Malik Riaz. According to details, the SHO allegedly misbehaved with the PML-N MNA and delayed him as well as his companions for 15 minutes when they refused to get the arms checked lying in the vehicle. On the date of hearing, CCPO Lahore Pervez Rathore had appeared in the court submitting the suspended police officials had already been reinstated and the inquiry was in progress.
