LAHORE - Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Mohammad Pervez Rathore has said that, till the last day of his appointment as CCPO, search and sweep operation and crackdown against proclaimed offenders would continue throughout the provincial metropolis. CCPO said throughout his government service, he firmly adopted motto of continues service to the masses and introduced a balanced system of reward and punishment in Lahore Police. Rathore pointed out during his posting as CCPO, record promotions were made in the history of Lahore Police, while unprecedented development works had been undertaken which included construction of new police stations, barracks and residential facilities for Lahore Police personnel. As per details, during his tenure CCPO Pervez Rathore has awarded 37614 punishments of different nature to Police officer/officials for corruption, misconduct, misuse of authority and negligence including: 1294 of dismissal, 35 of removal from service, seven of pension recovery, 252 reduction in rank, 3480 forfeiture of service, 496 stoppage of promotion, 620 reduction of pay, 2684 of stoppage of annual increment, 9108 of censure, 19645 of warning. With reference to construction work, CCPO told that with the cost of 551.10 million construction work had been started including: eight new Police stations are being constructed, including: PS Ghari Shahu with the cost of 21.73 million, Township 21.89 millions, Naseerabad 12.60 million, Ravi Road 12.60 million, Masti Gate 12.60 mln and Garden Town 21.88 million. Whereas, PS Hanjarwal 21.53 million and Laiquatabad 12.60 million would be constructed at alternate places. He said with the cost of Rs 187.89 mln, residential flats would be constructed for married policemen from grade 15 to 17. He said 1286/RFT new security wall is being constructed, with the cost of Rs. 21.60 million. Whereas, destroyed residences of officer of grade 18-19 at CCPO officer are also being constructed. CCPO said that a Hospital and seven barracks for the police officials are being constructed at Police Line Qilla Gujjar Singh, Lahore at the cost of 65.03 million. Seven DSPs offices, with the cost of Rs. 9.429 million, are being built including: DSP Wahdat Colony, City Raiwind, Mangamandi, Kahna, Baghbanpura, Mustafabad and Munawan. CCPO said that seven residences for the police officers of grade 20 are being constructed at Mughalpura Police Station whereas 90 flats for the police official grade 1 to 10 are also being constructed at Bhubptian Choke, opposite of Pak Hero Motorcycle Factory, Raiwind Road, Lahore.
