PESHAWAR - Under the National Action Plan, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police have rounded up 659 suspects and recovered a huge cache of arms and ammunitions in the ongoing search and strike operation.

As per details, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police in the operation conducted in different parts of the province recovered 30 arms and ammunition of different kind and 738 rounds of different bore. During the operation 531 houses and 266 hotels were checked and 33 cases were registered against the violators. During snap checking on 147 check points, 375 suspects were held and recovered 14 arms of different kind and 180 cartridges of different bore. During action against illegal Afghans a total of 26 persons were detained on violation and 14 cases were registered against them. Security inspections of 802 educational institutions were also carried out and various institutions were advised to further beef up security arrangements.
