The body of three-year-old Mehreen, who had gone missing three days ago, was found in Pasrur city’s Shah Malook Road locality on Sunday.

Unknown person(s) had abducted her from outside her house in Nizamabad Pasrur city. Local people found the brutally tortured body thrown in a deserted place near Shah Malook Road in Pasrur city.

The incident created panic and harassment among the local people. The grieved family staged a protest demonstration by placing the girl’s body on the road. The family urged Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif to ensure early arrest of the killers.

DPO Dr Shehzad Asif Khan reached there and assured the family of early arrest of the perpetrators. He said that police teams were raiding several places to ensure their early. Earlier, Pasrur city police handed over the body to the family for burial after autopsy at Civil Hospital Pasrur. The slain girl was laid to rest in her native grave yard, amid sobs and tears. Hundreds of people from all walks of life attended the funeral. A local MNA directed the Pasrur police to ensure early arrest of the accused besides providing justice to the family.

Meanwhile, labourer Zahid Hussain (42) was injured seriously while his house was badly damaged in a gas cylinder explosion due to gas leakage in far-off bordering village Sabzkot-Pasrur. Police said that as he lit the stove, the explosion occurred there due to gas leakage. He sustained serious injuries while his house was badly damaged in the explosion. He was shifted to the hospital in critical condition.
