PSC holds dealers’ convention to supply quality seed to farmers

LAHORE  - The Punjab Seed Corporation is organising dealers’ convention across the province to increase the sale of registered seeds among the farmers. Managing Director PSC Khaqan Babir, while talking to media, further said that the farmers could enhance production of their crops by using registered quality seeds. He was flanked by DMD Nasir Saleem, Dr Ajmal Haider Shah, Director Marketing Ch Manzoor, Director Finance Tariq Mehmood and others.
The MD, in this regard, recently visited Rahim Yar Khan and Khanewal to address the conventions. Addressing the dealers over there, Khaqan Babir highlighted the role of dealers to increase the sale of proper seeds. He claimed that only dealers and farmers can discourage the sale of substandard seed in the country by rejecting fake agri inputs. The campaign of supplying good quality seed can be successful with the active support of dealers and farmers as they have pivotal role in agriculture sector, he added. He told them that the PSC had fixed the target of selling 132000 maund seed of wheat, 37,000 maund of cotton and 60,000 maund of paddy. The seed was available with PSC sale points and registered dealers whereas prices of quality seeds of all kinds have been reduced significantly on the direction of Punjab Chief Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif to accommodate farmers of less land.
