ISLAMABAD - The Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) have set a special traffic plan, deploying four DSPs, 16 Inspectors and 354 officers to maintain traffic flow on the eve of Independence Day. Apart from the routine duties five squads have been formed to patrol the ICT area. The SSP (Traffic), Muhammad Zubair Hashmi, had directed to take strict action against one-wheeling, riding bikes without silencers and creating hindrance in traffic flow. Advising the people to prove them as responsible and civilized citizens during the event.  According to details the SSP set a special plan on the eve of August 14, 2008 to maintain traffic flow in the city. According to which all crossings and intersections will be covered with ITP officials from August 13 apart from the deployment of traffic police in markets and public parks to provide safer road environment and to maintain smooth flow of traffic in the city. Five special squads have been set which will patrol in the city and to reach at any spot where any traffic hindrance to be noticed. ITP also deployed its staff at visiting places, public parks, important places, markets and picnic points to maintain the traffic flow. The SSP said any unlawful activity can endanger others lives therefore the road users should refrain from any such activity.
