Police arrested at least 50 miscreants from various areas of the metropolis with 12 pistols and two Kalashnikovs recovered from their possession. Meantime, Rangers arrested several suspected people during operation in Nazimabad-2. The residents of the area mounted protest accusing the operation was carried out in areas other than those affected with firing incidents. Nazimabad-2 overnight kept ringing with gunshots. After the firing ceased, Rangers personnel surrounded the area and conducted house to house search operation near Nadria Restaurant. Several people were nabbed as well. However, local women alleged the Rangers arrested innocent people. Area residents rose in protest against the operation, saying operation was conducted in only five streets; no action was taken in areas where firing incidents took place. The citizens demanded the government to ensure the protection of their life and property.
