All set to celebrate Independence Day in a befitting way and the district administration has chalked out special measures to ensure security. The Police, Rescue 1122, the TMA and other departments concerned have been issued special directives to remain alert to avert any contingency on the Independence Day.

The city is being given a new look as all the bazaars have been decorated tastefully with colourful buntings, national flag, portraits of the Pakistan Movements leaders besides illumination at public buildings while the tunes of national songs in the city bazaar shops giving a good touch to revive the spirit of devotion and dedication for the nation and country. The people, especially children have been busy purchasing and decorating their homes and dresses with national flag, badges, portraits of national heroes to prove their love and affiliation with the homeland.

Various organisations have planned different programmes significant to the occasion while Radio Pakistan, Bahawalpur has been broadcasting special programmes to promote patriotism and highlighting the hard struggle of forefathers for this piece of land for Muslims as well as airing national songs to revive the patriotism and nationalism among the listeners.

The national flag hoisting ceremonies will be held at various places of the city including Islamia University, Bahawalpur, LHC, Bahawalpur Bench, Bahawalpur Cantt and other official departments.
